Description: The Accounting Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and accuracy of accounting processes for our US & Canada-based clients. This position requires a CA with experience in a KPO environment, strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP & IFRS knowledge is a plus), and the ability to manage a team of accountants.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Accounting Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for assigned US & Canada clients, including bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, tax filings (in collaboration with external tax experts, if needed), and other accounting tasks.
Team Supervision and Development: Lead, guide, and mentor a team of accountants. Delegate tasks, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support professional growth.
Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure adherence to US GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and client-specific accounting standards. Establish and maintain quality control processes.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency improvements in accounting workflows, leveraging technology and automation where possible.
Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing queries, resolving discrepancies, and building strong relationships.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review financial reports, analyze financial data, and provide insights to management and clients.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, escalate complex issues to management, and propose corrective actions.
Project Management: As needed, oversee accounting-related projects ensuring on-time and within budget completion.
Qualifications:
Certification: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) environment, with specialization in accounting for US/Canada clients.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, and ideally exposure to IFRS.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
Strong Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
Leadership and Management: Proven ability to supervise a team, delegate tasks effectively, and provide constructive feedback.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to both clients and team members.
