Applicants should have (i) a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines (for Postdoctoral Fellow); OR a Master’s degree in the abovementioned discipline plus four years’ relevant post-qualification experience (for Research Associate); (ii) rich experience in developing reliable and good performance robotic systems, especially whole robot design abilities including choosing appropriate motors together with transmission system; (iii) proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Eagle, TINA for mechanical or electrical designs; (iv) strong problem-solving skills and project execution capability; and (v) self-motivation to work independently and co-operatively with other team members. Work experience in locomotion robots will be advantageous.
The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) mechanical system development for robots underdeveloped by the Department; (b) design, evaluation, acceleration, optimisation and test; and (c) design and development of testbeds.
Appointment will be made on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
