Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will provide hands-on support to maintain and repair precision CNC machining equipment and peripheral automation, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role

Troubleshoot FANUC controllers and identifying related failure modes for the purpose of repairing, and restarting CNC equipment.

Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC ladder and block logic to repair and replace motors, amplifiers, transducers, servos and sensors.

Align and level CNC spindles, turrets and tail stocks and other related equipment.

Use machine tool manuals, technical documents and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues for repair.

Support preventive maintenance schedule.

Prioritize machine maintenance requests to ensure production down time is minimized.

Collaborate with internal teams to support continuous improvement efforts with a focus on preventing recurring failure.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

3+ years' experience working in a related environment with CNC equipment.

Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance.

Hands on troubleshooting, teardown, and repair experience required.

Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation.

Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic.

Previous experience with FANUC robots, controllers and peripheral equipment on R30iB and R30iA or similar control platforms.

Previous experience with FANUC application software and programming, preferred.

This role will work in a production facility around a variety of industrial warehouse equipment and vehicles, such as forklifts and robotic arms, in an environment that includes exposure to loud noise levels, vibration, chemicals, dust, fumes, mechanical hazards, bright lights and hot or cold temperatures. While performing the duties of this position, incumbents are required to do all of some of the following, with or without accommodation:

Attend to machinery (workstation) for long periods, up to an entire shift, managing the controls of the equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Use computer keyboard, mobile device, desk top computer, laptop, calculator, telephone, walkie talkie, copy machine and other production warehouse tools or controls.

Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgement.

Review documents, monitors or displays with potentially small print.

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hard hats, masks, gloves or other PPE required to operate equipment safely and effectively.

Move through the production warehouse facility on potentially uneven or slippery surface.

Respond to safety control noises or alarms such as fire alarm, forklifts horns, and machinery alerts.

Reach under, over, above or around machinery or other objects such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work.

Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.
