The Aurora location of Burgermaster is looking for line cooks, with opportunities to become food runners and cashiers. We are a fast-paced, very busy restaurant looking for hard working individuals who are ready to make some money! No experience is necessary, but strong consideration will go to applicants who have line cook or barista experience.
Locally owned since 1952, Burgermaster is a family owned restaurant chain specializing in local, grass-fed beef burgers served drive-in style. Burgermaster feels like your neighborhood family-oriented diner, while serving food at speeds comparable with fast food restaurants!
We're passionate about what we do. We believe in using only grass-fed beef, antibiotic-free chicken, and as many local ingredients as we can. We make every single item to order, and we prepare many of our items here in house daily.
Role and Responsibilities
Prepares and cooks to order foods in the pantry, fry and/or stations in the kitchen.
Food prep including slicing, cutting, chopping food daily.
Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines
Prepares and cooks food according to instructions, in a timely and sanitary manner
Restocks items as needed
Cleans work area and food preparation equipment
Assists with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas
Responds promptly to customer needs
Responds to requests for service and assistance
Observes safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures, determines appropriate action beyond guidelines and reports unsafe conditionsRequirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent time management skills.
Proven customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read English and comprehend simple instructions
Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous restaurant experience preferred
Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
Valid Food Worker Card with the first week
Work Environment
Prolonged periods standing, walking, and working around kitchen equipment in close proximity to others
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be comfortable working long hours, including nights and weekends.
