Job Summary:
The Staff Pharmacist will receive general guidance and direction from the Pharmacist in Charge. This role will involve drug utilization review, ensuring the proper and safe storage of drugs and devices, and the maintenance of records of drugs and devices. The key function of this role is processing prescriptions with a keen focus on providing service excellence.
Responsibilities:
Maintain professional knowledge, skills, and competence in areas of responsibility
Identify opportunities for improvements in pharmacy systems related to unique needs of identified health conditions
Appropriately intervene for drug allergies, potential drug interactions, and duplication of therapy 100% of the time, as documented in patient medication profile.
Effectively communicate to patients the recommendation of drug regimen for all prescriptions
Review and interpret prescriptions, compounds and accurately dispense medication, while maintaining efficient workflow to provide timely delivery
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
B.S. or Pharm.D.
1-2 years experience in clinical pharmacy practice is preferred
Licensed and in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy; Licensure in NJ
Excellent communication skills, flexibility
Self-directed with excellent time management skills and able to work independently
ASHP-approved Pharmacy Residency desirable
Strong organizational skills necessary to plan and coordinate daily operational activities
Ability to communicate with all levels of health care professionals
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy filling prescriptions
Compounding Medications comprehension preferred
