ABA Therapist

Using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Ingenuity Prep’s ABA therapist will work with a team of teachers and specialists to provide the highest level of education and support for each student, using evidence-based practices adapted to students’ unique needs. Whether working one-on-one with a student or working with a small group of students, the ABA therapist will participate in the growth and learning of each student with whom they work, a rewarding role to play in the life of a student and their family.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The core responsibilities of the ABA Therapist role at Ingenuity Prep include:

Student Support

Provide one-on-one or small group behavioral therapy sessions (using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis-ABA) to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities or other behavioral health needs; utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements

Ensure supervision and safety of assigned students in classroom, school, and community and settings

Data Collection and Management

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and behavior analyses to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors

Document treatment progress, develop treatment plan, and collect treatment data for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Individual Student Support Plans (ISPs)

Collect and analyze data on student behavior to monitor progress, adjust intervention strategies as needed, and make data-driven decisions.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of student performance, behavior incidents, and intervention outcomes

Staff Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized support plans (ISPs) based on assessment findings and student needs

Collaborate with special education teachers, dedicated aides, and other school staff to ensure consistency in implementing behavior intervention plans across different settings (e.g., classroom, playground, cafeteria).

Support teachers with regular communication to parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, share strategies for behavior management at home, and solicit feedback on intervention effectiveness.

Conduct staff training sessions on ABA principles, behavior management techniques, and strategies for supporting students with unique behavioral needs.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Ingenuity Prep ABA Therapist might be the right fit for you if:

Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of ABA, preferably in a school or educational setting

Have previous experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and implementing applied behavior analysis techniques in a school or clinical setting.

Have a strong understanding of behavior principles and behavior intervention strategies, including reinforcement techniques, prompting procedures, and functional communication training.

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Have the desire to support students needs in and outside of the classroom

Can work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Ingenuity Prep’s families; you consistently treat others with dignity and respect

You are flexible and persistent; you have a strong ability to identify and solve challenging problems.

Ability to express facts and ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

Excellent skills in planning, organization, and leadership; ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities

Salary starting at $74,067 with increasing commensurate for 1-10 years of experience.
