Role overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Reference Data SME with technical subject matter expertise in Reference Data to join our team on contract basis.

The Reference Data used within Treasury Services for a Global Custodian, and also the Reference Data used within Operational Custody Services.

Role Focus:

Analysis of the required data – determine what reference data is needed by the business, and the scope of the reference data that is needed by the business.

Analysis of which vendors give the best coverage for each of the required data points, and which vendors are the most accurate for each of the required data points.

Decide which and how many vendors will be needed to cover the full scope based on the analysis performed.

Create the golden rules (hierarchy) that will be applied based on the analysis performed.

Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to reference data management, and data security.

Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring alignment with client’s standards and requirements.

Prepare and present reports on reference data to senior management, highlighting key metrics, issues, and initiatives.

Work closely with multiple development teams on complex data analysis, providing key business insight to ensure strategic alignment of business and technology goals with regards the implementation and usage of reference data.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred (certification in relevant areas such as data management or information security is a plus).

Minimum of 10+ years of experience in financial services operations/ middle office, with a focus on reference data management, data security.

Strong understanding of trade settlement processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and driving projects to successful completion.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Knowledge of industry tools and systems related to reference data management (e.g., Bloomberg, Markit, Fidessa).
