Junior Architectural Designer

Hays has partnered with an integrated local firm registered in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan who are actively looking for a Junior Architectural Designer to join their growing production team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale and complexity, committing to high quality innovative design on all. As an Junior Architectural Designer you will be working across commercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality and residential project types. Responsibilities

You’ll collaborate with experienced designers, architects, and other team members to bring innovative ideas to life.

Participating in project development during schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases and develop architectural concepts either autonomously or collaboratively as required.

Produce highly accurate 3D models and architectural drawings for conceptual presentations and create compelling architectural images.

Produce printed or digital presentation documents with a good sense of graphic design and contribute to brainstorming sessions and pitch creative ideas.

Work closely with Senior Designers, Architectural Technicians, and other team members.

Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program.

Ideally you will possess 2+ years of local experience and have previous experience working on similar project typology to the firm.

You will be proficient with the following platforms: Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe & Sketch-Up.

You will have high proficiency in developing architectural drawing packages and knowledgeable with detailing.

You will possess sound knowledge of local buildings codes and bylaws. Registration, LEED & PMP Certification are a bonus but not a requirement.

The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package of $50,000 - $55,000 + bonus (based on performance) extended benefits, paid parking and flexible work hours.
