Senior Estimator - ICI

Job Title: Senior Estimator (ICI Construction)

Location: Toronto and Surrounding areas

Salary: Up to $130,000

Position Overview: As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates and detailed project proposals for ICI construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ICI construction methods, materials, and market trends, coupled with exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.

Utilize industry-leading estimating software and tools to quantify materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs accurately.

Conduct thorough research and analysis of market conditions, subcontractor pricing, and material costs to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in cost estimates.

Develop detailed project proposals, including breakdowns of costs, timelines, and scope of work, for presentation to clients and stakeholders.

Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and address any inquiries.

Collaborate with internal teams to develop value engineering solutions and alternative cost-saving measures without compromising quality or project integrity.

Maintain a database of historical cost data, subcontractor bids, and other relevant information to support future estimating efforts and improve accuracy.

Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to ICI construction estimating, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development and process improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating roles within the ICI construction industry, with a strong track record of successfully estimating and bidding on complex projects.

Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes relevant to the ICI sector.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Professional certifications (e.g., CPE, PQS) or relevant industry affiliations are desirable.
