Schedule: Weekends primarily and/or 3 pm - 11:30 pm shifts
About the Role: As a Pharmacist with us, you'll be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring seamless medication management for our patients. Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing, entering, and clarifying prescriptions from nurses and physicians.
Preparing medications with precision and care, detecting any therapeutic incompatibilities.
Dispensing medications through compounding, packaging, and labeling.
Monitoring drug therapies and providing interventions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and process orders across multiple platforms
Conduct comprehensive assessments of orders at both preliminary and final stages
Initiate communication with physicians for prescription acquisition when necessary
Engage with healthcare providers to resolve prescription inquiries and ensure clarity
Efficiently manage the replenishment and maintenance of EKits and Automated Dispensing Machines (ADS)
Document and track controlled substances accurately
Facilitate the fulfillment of new and fulfilled backorders
Skillfully compound IV/TPN and non-sterile preparations
Implement necessary NDC adjustments
Validate pre-packaged medication integrity
Handle requests related to Out-of-Plan (OOP) and Leave of Absence (LOA) in a timely manner
Direct documents to appropriate processing queues for streamlined workflow
Complete Quality Assurance (QA) documentation as required
Process orders for medications under Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS)
Apply clinical judgment in patient profile assessments and reviews
Fulfill on-call responsibilities as per schedule
Receive and accurately input 222 forms from healthcare facilities
Understand and execute billing procedures, liaising effectively with billing department personnel
Requirements:
Knowledge of medications, interactions, and dosage
Experience in long-term care preferred, but not required
Familiarity with Frameworks and Docutrack information systems beneficial
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution
Current pharmacist licensure in OH
