Public Works Estimator

Job Description

Duties:

- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required

- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment needed for construction projects

- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes

- Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals

- Identify potential risks and opportunities in project estimates

- Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys

- Create and maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference

- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required

- Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and materials pricing

Qualifications:

-Must have minimum 5 years of experience in public works commercial construction estimating.

-Must have minimum 3 years of experience in Job Order Contracting (JOC)/EZICQ estimating.

- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes

- Proficient in using estimating software and tools

- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

- Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

- Strong communication and negotiation skills
