Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated individual for a full-time position as a full-charge bookkeeper.

Full-charge bookkeeper is expected to be able to perform the following duties:

Review and prepare compilation engagements (GAAP basis).

Oversee and prepare non-disclosure compiled financial statements in accordance with firm guidelines.

Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations; review general ledger accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries.

Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.

Prepare month-end adjusting journal entries and perform month-end closings.

Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules.

Prepare and review trial balances and financial statements.

Payroll processing and its regulatory requirements.

Able to prepare and review sales and use tax returns, payroll tax returns (including annual W-2 and W-3 filings), business property statements Form 571, Forms 1099 and related informational returns, workers’ compensation reports and other small business reporting forms.

Establish and maintain client communications and excellent customer service.

Assure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations.

Supervise various accounting staff to ensure adherence to firm-established internal and quality controls.

Manage compliance with filing deadlines.

Other duties as assigned.

Education/License/Experience Required

3+ years of experience in full-charge business accounting and bookkeeping.

Associate's degree in Accounting or a minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience.

QuickBooks certification or a minimum of 2 years of experience working with QuickBooks Pro or Enterprise on a daily basis.

Qualify for and maintain a PTIN.

Mas 90/Sage 100 certification or minimum of 2 years of experience.

Skill Set

Understanding of GAAP accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

Outstanding organization skills, strong listening skills, and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communicator and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks/projects, juggle deadlines, and solve problems with minimal supervision.

Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving, and results.

Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.

Proficiency in CCH tax software is preferred. Audit experience is a plus, but not required.Company Description
