Job Title

Human Resources Generalist

Reports To Human Resource Manager

Location

Toledo, Ohio

General Function

Provides support to all areas of Human Resources (for hourly and salary) such as personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, discipline, recruitment, onboarding, labor relations, wellness, and engagement activities.

Job Responsibilities:

· Back up to HR Manager, assist HR Manager with all necessary projects and issues.

· Responsible for recruitment and staffing of hourly personnel; conducting the entire process from interviews to onboarding and orientation, then follow-up on 30-60-90-day reviews.

· Keep our HRIS updated and accurate, along with administrating the benefits for active and retired employees.

· Processes applications, employment, enrollment, pay change, informational and other confidential forms for active personnel.

· Updating various databases.

· Responsible for time and attendance and administering discipline relating to attendance.

· Ensure that all posting and employee notice board are updated.

· Actively involved in the grievance process and handling all employee questions, complaints, inquiries while using a resolution-orientated mind-set.

· Provide support to HR Manager in Safety, such as maintenance of OSHA Logs, plant safety tours, and safety committee meetings.

· Assist with employee engagement activities throughout the year to maintain company morale and well-being.

· Any additional HR responsibilities assigned by the HR manager.

Working Conditions

The noise level is usually quiet except when in the plant and it can be noisy.

Education and Experience Required

· Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources.

· Experience with HRIS systems and time and attendance software is a plus

Skills and Abilities

· Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software

· Excellent personal, organizational and communications skills.

· Must be highly organized and able to respond quickly and effectively in changing situations.

· Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
