TITLE: Senior Manager, Revenue

LOCATION: Remote

CPA REQUIRED

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Sr. Revenue Manager is responsible for the proper accounting of the company’s revenues and managing day-to-day team operations. This includes maintaining properly controlled systems and processes, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition policies and procedures, performing month/quarterly close, reporting and supporting audits.

The Sr. Revenue Manager will supervise and mentor staff accountants to include goal setting, coaching and performance reviews. This role will require the flexibility to work additional hours, particularly during the monthly and quarterly close.

The candidate should be analytical with strong problem solving and technical skills, possess excellent communication, organizational and decision-making skills, produce quality work with efficiency, and provide solid advice/data to others while demonstrating strong team building skills.

Oversees Teams that are responsible for:

Order processing

Revenue recognition

Deal structuring

Billing, collections, and credit

Accounting and reporting for revenue, receivables and deferred commissions.

Support audit and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

Build and lead a high-performing team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, development, and accountability.

Review complicated software deals for proper revenue recognition under ASC 606

Assist sales and legal teams with contract negotiation by participating in discussions, reviewing draft contracts, and providing revenue recognition recommendations.

Collaborate with legal, sales, operations and finance to evaluate new licensing or subscription models. Evaluate impacts to revenue recognition and communicate key risks to accounting management.

Manage the order processing team for completing and fulfilling orders.

Manage accounting for deferred commissions under ASC 340

Manage the accounts receivable team including forecasting, billing, and collections.

Actively participate in monthly and quarterly close activities

Maintain and update internal control documentation for order processing, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and support audits of related controls.

Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and ensure compliance with established standards.

Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and federal contracting requirements affective revenue recognition.

Prepare and provide support for financial statement disclosures.

Create detailed reporting as needed for management purposes, including bookings, backlog and ARR.

Monitor industry/regulatory changes with respect to revenue recognition and develop new processes and policies to accommodate accordingly.

Calculate standalone selling price ranges and work with sales to maintain compliance.

Assist the company to review and automate processes in a new accounting system.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Licensed CPA required

6+ years of accounting experience preferably in the tech industry.

3+ years management experience.

Demonstrated technical knowledge and thorough understanding of GAAP in the area of revenue recognition, preferably in a software and/or services environment.

Able to maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

A solutions-oriented team player with excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.

Excellent communication skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide, and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions.

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Advance proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially MS Excel).

Revenue accounting system implementation experience preferred.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:$124,583.00-190,142.00 USD

The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs.
