Job Description for Toddler Room Teacher:
We are looking for a nurturing individual to be a toddler room teacher. This candidate will work with the other toddler room teachers in conducting daily responsibilities listed below. To be successful as a teacher, you must have a passion for children and exercise patience with them. You should display a positive attitude and greet parents and staff in a friendly manner. Ultimately, you should constantly monitor and supervise the children in your care to ensure their safety.
Qualifications:
Candidate must be:
A high school graduate or equivalent.
Cleared of any criminal record.
CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or obtain certifications upon hire.
DCF certified which requires 45 hours of DCF training.
Mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children alone in a classroom.
Punctual, and have minimal unexcused absences.
Aware of the unique needs of toddlers and have appropriate expectations of their abilities.
Able to lift up to 30 pounds
Sit for short periods of time on the floor
Responsibilities:
Candidate will:
Provide a safe and loving environment for the toddlers.
Assist children in feeding themselves food that are appropriate and provided by parents.
Change diapers as needed.
Supervise toddlers on the floor as they play with age appropriate toys.
Assist toddlers when going down for nap.
Provide daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for toddlers.
Write lesson plans with developmentally appropriate activities
Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service.
Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends.
Communicate daily activities, through an App, regarding eating, sleeping, and diaper changing.
Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times.
