The Repair & Special Process Engineer is responsible for developing, validating, and industrializing new technologies and special processes and improve consolidate mature technologies for the hot gas path (Buckets, nozzles, shrouds). You will execute repair process development, coordinate materials and validation testing, standardize and industrialize new repairs, technologies, and equipment in global service centers.

As Repair & Special Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Providing technical leadership for development, substantiation, and standardization of repair processes for Gas Turbine and for new products according to energy transition technology hot gas path components

Developing repairs and processes (Repair Engineering Instructions - REI) for Buckets, nozzle and shrouds and assures engagement of special process experts from other departments

Managing updates on 100% of REI documentation, driving the reviewing and releasing processes.

Coordinating with Product Design and material process engineer the task on NPD program on serviceability. Assure all technical requirements are defined and satisfied through applicable review processes

Coordinating with Product Design and material process engineer the task on the hot gas path repair maintenance as continuous improvement, from NCA and from shop experience and fleet leader evidence

Assuring all technical requirements are defined and satisfied through technical discussion through all the stakeholders involved

Leading shop auditing & certification of repair processes, for the product lines of competency

Identifying opportunities for repair productivity enhancements, cost reduction and new processes development

Identifying, implementing, and qualifying manufacturing and repair solutions for part deviations and emergent work through collaboration within Baker Hughes functions

Communicating to all levels of the organization, coordinate with Quality, and SOU to provide technical support for individual repair jobs

Providing technical expertise and support to customer through coordination with the Liasion engineer of the shop network involved in Service request or non conformities

Supporting the training of local shop personnel to assure successful roll-out of processes. Mentor and develop less experienced engineers.

Partner with the best

To be successful in this role, you will:

Have a Bachelor degree In Material science, Chemistry or Engineering.

Have professional experience in similar roles as products managed and or special processes SME.

Have good knowledge of the main special processes involved in the repair process: Stripping process (different type of coatings), heat treatment, mechanical and chemical cleaning, coating methodology and materials, shot peening, brazing.

Knowledge also of welding principles.

Be fluent in English

Have interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to coordinate global team efforts to execute repair projects and priorities

Demonstrate ability to drive projects to completion.

Be able to understand business objectives and to drive specific tasks required to meet the objectives
