Job Summary:

The TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs detailed histories and physical exams and partners with patients to create appropriate, evidence-based, medical treatment plans. Additionally, the APP collaborates with the supervising physician, Medical Directors, and Clinical Management team on patient cases when appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides evidence-based, episodic care to patients based on current guidelines – independently and in collaboration with other medical providers – following standards and protocols set by TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track.

Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).

Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical examinations.

Orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed.

Partners with patients to determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary.

Safely prescribes and/or dispenses medications.

Documents medical information of patients and reviews patients' histories at each visit.

Evaluates response to treatments and medications.

Consults, collaborates, and refers with other health care providers when appropriate.

Counsels' patients and performs patient education.

Performs minor procedures, i.e., laceration repair, incision and drainage, minor foreign body removal, etc. within the limitations outlined in the company protocols.

Manages pediatric (3 months and older) and adult patients for both acute and chronic conditions.

Actively maintains knowledge of current medical research and trends.

Provides administrative support or cross-coverage for reviewing laboratory tests, results, and prescription clarifications when needed.

Scheduling flexibility to include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

Current state licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Associate

DEA license with no restrictions preferred.

Current BLS/ACLS/PALS

Current certification with the NRCME to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) exams.

Two years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate preferred

New graduates with significant procedural skills/experience will be considered.

Clinical experience in an emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting preferred.

Work Schedule:

Work week to include Monday through Sunday with weekend and evening hours.

May require occasional travel between clinics, depending upon patient volume and clinic needs.

Approximately 45 hours per week.
