2nd Shift Metal Finisher - Sandblasting and Surface Prep

Job Description

NEIC is looking for a motivated 2nd shift (2pm-1030pm M-F) media blasting and parts prep technician. The position works alongside our 2nd shift coating technician and performs essential metal finishing preparation including but not limited to media blasting, grinding, sanding, steam cleaning, solvent cleaning, vapor degreasing, fixturing and masking.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

● Operate metal finishing shop equipment

● Operate media blasting equipment

● Operate hand and power tools to perform job responsibilities

● Work with cleaning materials to clean/prepare metal and plastic surfaces for treatment

● Inspect and pack finished parts per quality standards

● Additional responsibilities may include operating finishing equipment.

SKILLS

● Must be able to work with limited supervision, establish priorities, and independently set objectives

● Able to follow all safety rules and regulations, including PPE appropriate for tasks

● Possess valid Driver’s License

● Able to comprehend and evaluate facts and arrive at a decision consistent with company standards and procedures

● Exercises judgment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Must be capable of lifting heavy items up to 100 lbs.

● Routinely move or push packages/parts up to 250 lbs. with assistance.

● Lift boxes overhead.

● Move pallets weighing 4000 pounds by pushing and pulling with pallet jack.

● Must possess ability to use hand and manual tools.

● Stand on concrete floor in LED lighted warehouse environment

● Normal to correctable to normal vision and hearing

● Exchange information verbally and written

Experience:

● Professional Finishing Experience Preferred
