Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our dermatology practice as a Billing Coordinator/Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, as well as providing administrative support to our Front Office team. This position requires a candidate with excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of medical billing practices, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

-Oversee the processing and submitting of insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing regulations.

-Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.

-Communicate effectively with insurance companies to ensure proper authorization and billing procedures.

-Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and rejections promptly.

-Collaborate with insurance providers and patients to address billing inquiries and resolve payment issues.

- Provide administrative and front desk support to ensure efficient operation of the office

- Contribute to the front office team by helping to answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide back-up to the front desk receptionist when needed

- Daily attention to resolving insurance claim issues such as requests for additional information and denials

- Perform other administrative duties as assigned

-Help Identify opportunities for improvement and implement approved changes to streamline processes.

Requirements:

-High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.

-Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in a dermatology or healthcare setting.

-Familiarity with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

-Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations

- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

- Experience with medical receptionist duties is a plus

- Ability to type accurately and efficiently
