Assistant Director of Human Resources

Direct Hire

Salary: $90-95K plus bonus

Hybrid in Burlington - 3 days in office, 2 days home.

Must have:

5+ years HR with experience in employee relations issues

At least 1 year in an environment supporting business with 100ee's+ of hourly employees

Ability to make site visits monthly in Dedham, Worcester and Salem, NH (and as needed for issues or training)

Nice to have:

Bachelor's

SHRM-CP or SHRM SCP

Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Human Resources collaborates with various departments within the organization to enhance HR services for both management and employees in alignment with business objectives. This role maintains a strong understanding of the financial landscape, future plans, culture, and competitive environment of the business unit.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

While not directly overseeing staff, this role acts as a mentor and coach to support the development of team members within the department and business sites.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular meetings with different business units onsite.

• Offer HR guidance to line management as needed.

• Analyze HR metrics alongside the HR team to develop effective solutions, programs, and policies.

• Handle complex employee relations matters, conducting thorough and unbiased investigations.

• Stay updated on legal requirements pertaining to employee management to minimize legal risks and ensure compliance.

• Provide ongoing performance management support to line managers, including coaching, counseling, and career development.

• Foster positive work relationships, morale, and productivity through close collaboration with management and employees.

• Offer guidance on HR policies and their interpretation.

• Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.

• Provide insight on business unit restructuring, workforce planning, and succession planning.

• Identify training needs within business units and offer executive coaching when required.

• Participate in evaluating and monitoring training programs to ensure effectiveness and achievement of objectives.
