Job Description

Summit Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist or Clinician, interested in High Level Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Training, to join the New Jersey team!

Requirements: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC (New Jersey Licensure)

At Summit Health’s Behavioral Health & Cognitive Therapy Center we employ high level Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat a wide variety of patient conditions including depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, health anxiety and more. We offer intensive clinical supervision and education to help our clinicians become certified in CBT within their first year. We provide both virtual and in-person treatment with a flexible work schedule that includes working from both home and the office.

The candidate will become part of a team consisting of physicians, nurses, behavioral health clinicians and psychiatrists focused on quickly providing help to patients and support to medical staff working to care for all aspects of their patients’ needs. The program is virtual with medical staff accessing the service thru phone and embedded iPads in all primary care offices.

Candidate must have knowledge of evidence-based treatments for common mental disorders, familiarity with brief, structured intervention techniques (e.g. Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Activation) and a desire to become skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Experience working with patients who have co-occurring mental health and physical health problems preferred. Knowledge of community resources required.

Position Summary:

Provides short-term psychotherapeutic services including individual and group treatment to the patients of the Summit Health and surrounding communities.

Essential Job functions:

Treats adults.

Performs crisis intervention as needed.

Performs accurate patient evaluations and makes appropriate treatment recommendations and referrals.

Sets clear and specific treatment goals.

Researches and employs evidence based solution-focused treatments.

Demonstrates effective patient communication including empathy, collaboration and patient education.

Demonstrates effective treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Completes accurate and timely patient documentation.

Works collaboratively with referring physicians.

Engages in projects and the development of treatment programs as requested.

Provides educational programs to the SMG and the community as requested.

Adheres to the ethics of their profession and the regulations of the NJ State Board of Examiners.

Productivity – maintains established average weekly patient sessions.

Length of stay – maintains established average length of stay.

Accepts and utilizes clinical feedback provided in clinical and peer supervision.

Physical Job Requirements:

Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking)

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

Master’s or Doctoral Degree PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC & already Licensed in the State of New Jersey or license eligible in Social Work, Professional Counseling or Psychology

Master’s degree required. Doctorate degree preferred.

3 years experience at the Master’s degree level. 5 years preferred. 1 year experience at the Doctorate level, 3 years preferred.

NJ State License in Social Work, Professional Counseling or Psychology required.

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required.

Training and experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy preferred.

Ability to multi – task, organize & prioritize workload required.

Ability to make complex and time pressured decision making with high degree of accuracy.

Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.

Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment preferred.
