Join our dynamic team as a dedicated Pathology Assistant!

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about their work, committed to accuracy, and ready to contribute to our mission of improving healthcare outcomes.

The working hours for this position are as follows:

Monday through Friday: 09:00 AM - 5:30 PM

At least 1 Saturday per month: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Accurately inputting all Anatomic Pathology (AP) data, which includes biopsies, Cytology, PBSs, and Molecular Panels, ensuring approved reports are seamlessly transferred from Harvest to Elab for clients and billing.

Efficiently managing both incoming and outgoing AP phone calls.

Timely and appropriate ordering of special stains, PCR Panels, and consultations from the SEP technical team and/or SEP reference labs.

Proactively resolving any issues or challenges related to Anatomic Pathology.

Daily scanning of all AP documents into Elab and promptly directing AP mails to the relevant teams.

Organizing and filing slides and blocks in a punctual manner.

Collaborating with the LIS team to address any AP-related IT challenges.

Maintaining effective communication with the billing team regarding eligibility, scanning, and reconciliations.

Ensuring the adherence to promised Turnaround Times (TATs).

Generating comprehensive AP daily, weekly, monthly, and annual statistical reports.

Proficiently performing tasks such as grossing biopsies and preparing KOH, Paps, FNAs, and Urine Cytology.

Skilled staining and coverslipping of specimens.

Screening PAS and Gram stains with diligence.

Willingly taking on any additional responsibilities necessary to enhance the overall success of Anatomic Pathology services.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) or eligibility for certification.

Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all tasks.

Proficiency in working collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Sound knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and quality control measures.

Familiarity with laboratory information systems and data entry.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated strong work ethic and dependability.

Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to take on tasks of varying difficulty.

Preferred experience as a lab assistant, specimen processor, or in a related laboratory role.

Ability to establish rapport with laboratory and medical staff.

Acquaintance with medical software and laboratory equipment.

Consistent demonstration of strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and attitude in a clinical environment.

The initial hourly wage is $16, which can increase to $20 per hour as all tasks are executed efficiently.
