Job Description
The operator is responsible for managing and overseeing maintenance of the machine and the programming, setup and operation of the wire EDM. This job includes, manual machining and part inspection during the course of multiple simultaneous projects. This person works directly with the Shop Foreman and Inspection. The candidate must be able to work from drawings, verbal instruction and/or written work instructions. The right candidate will have experience not only with programming and setting up the machine but also with project planning. Blueprint reading and some CAD experience is necessary. Other duties as directed. Some travel may be required.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Must be organized, detailed oriented and be able to work with all levels of plant personnel
Must understand and be comfortable with G-code and computers
Must have manual machining skills and be able to program a Prototrak
A complete set of personal machinist tools are needed to complete the job
Training and Experience:
Requires a 3 to 5 years' experience programming, and setting up and running a wire machine
Esprit software & AutoCAD experience
The job entails manufacturing and repairing gages. The chosen interviewee will be detail oriented, able to hold tight tolerances, have a good eye for aesthetics, will be self-motivated and a quick thinker.
Screening Requirements:
The applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years experience in a machine shop environment is vital.
