Job Summary

The primary function of this position is to install and setup stamping dies in presses, including auxiliary equipment such as clean lines, oil systems, payoffs, smart packs and take-ups in order to keep the machines running to specifications.

Main Responsibilities

Install and setup stamping dies in presses and qualify through FAI. Setups may include auxiliary equipment such as clean lines, oil systems, payoffs, smart packs and take-ups.

Pull stamping dies from the press when in need of maintenance or repair.

Reset tools in stamping press after maintenance or repair work has been completed.

Provide training to technicians and/or press operators as required.

Review daily production schedule to understand which jobs require setup.

Use troubleshooting skills and work with other setup technicians, operators and/or tool maintenance personnel to address unacceptable reject levels, resolve process or tooling problems, and develop a more robust and repeatable stamping setup process.

Assist in the creation, modification, or standardization of existing work procedures to include setup sheets.

Maintain all required documentation.

Keep current with emerging technology in the stamping industry to include auxiliary equipment.

Operate presses when required.

Follow all International Standards that apply to certification and QMS.

Qualifications

2 to 4 years of Stamping experience in support of Automotive or Electronics Industry preferred.

Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Appropriate mechanical and technical skills.

Intermediate computer skills.Company Description
