Construction Operations Manager

Job Description

Finish Carpentry, Door, and Cabinet company seeks Construction Operations Manager. Responsibilities include:

-Relationship management with builders, suppliers, and our work force. Ensure we are in good standing and that we’re the first ones builders want to call

-Collaboration with custom homes estimator

-Collaboration with production/multi-family estimators

-Overall field management through PMs/Foremen on schedule of carpenters with final resource determination as needed.

-Running production meetings or supervising running of production meetings

-Overseeing conversion of contracted bids to jobs, making sure materials are ordered on time and match approved submittals.

-Pay app set up in collaboration with estimators.

-Pulling together data to collaborate with bookkeeper on accurate invoicing, pay applications, and lien waivers.

-Review and approval of carpenters’ invoices. Resolving any disputes between work performed and scope on Work Orders.

-Regular review of job performance with job foremen.

- Collaboration on contract negotiations and understanding the ramifications of final version.

-Set up of Procurement Schedules

-Walking jobs for accuracy. Confirming doors size & swings.

-Performance reporting to Owner.

-Golf, events, dinners, and to build client and Owner relationships.

To be successful in the position the following qualifications are desired:

-Finish carpentry, door, and cabinet estimating experience for everything from high end custom homes to multifamily commercial projects

-Field experience running finish carpentry crews.

-Commercial doors/frames/hardware estimating experience

-Finish carpentry, doors, and hardware experience

-Customer service oriented

-Detail oriented and precise

-Experienced at setting up and submitting pay apps

-Experienced at setting up accepted bids/contracts for execution in the field

-Knowledge of construction contract language and the ramifications on the field

-High level time management skills

-Ability, willingness, and desire to work whatever hours needed to get the job done
