Commercial Construction Estimator

Job Description

This position will assist us covering our existing work load and help to expand our client base in the New York Metropolitan & New England areas.

Responsibilities include the following:

•Determine scopes of work / trade for initial estimates or when generating change orders.

•Analyzing bids for initial estimates or when generating change orders.

•Ascertain contract work from extra work during the course of the project.

•Develop, track and update the project's schedule.

•Attending pre-bid, bid opening, pre-construction and coordination meetings as needed.

•Perform detailed material and sub trade quantity take offs.

•Generate trade specific bid packages and distribute them to vendors and subcontractors.

•Write and submit RFI's to the Engineer/Architect, etc. Distribute All RFI responses to the appropriate parties.

•Conceptual budgeting.

3+ years relevant work experience in the construction industry.

Experienced in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs while maintaining a high level of construction quality preferred.

Knowledge of estimating and/ or drafting software i.e. On Screen Take Off, AIA Contract Management, Auto-cad and Microsoft Project preferred. Company Description
