Job Title: Production Material Handler
Location: Columbia, IL, USA
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Pay: Starting at $17.00/hr. + (Based on experience)
Shift Structure: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday
About the Material Hander Role:
The job requires the ability to make safe decision in the moving and handling of hazardous and no-hazardous chemicals. This position involves safety-sensitive functions.
Responsibilities of the Production Material Handler:
Responsible for the safe handling, storing, labeling, loading/unloading of materials.
Maintaining the integrity of materials stored in the warehouse
Pulling chemicals and components in accordance with special instructions on Picking Lists
Labeling chemical containers & components
Storing materials into the various rack, shelf, & floor locations
Operating Forklift, Reach Truck, and/or Power Pallet Jack.
Will need to operate drum dollies and manual pallet jacks.
Safely loading, unloading, and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
Pull material for Production
Put away chemical-filled containers produced by Production
Put away partially filled containers used by Production
Hand load empty/dirty recon drums onto a trailer if requested
Will need to safely complete tasks & duties as trained
Complete cycle counts as requested
Participate in full physical inventories as scheduled
Complete all necessary paperwork applicable for the task
Report any safety issues, incidents, and/or safety violations immediately to your Supervisor/Manager
Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required
Other Duties:
Keep work areas clean and neat.
Assist line personnel as needed.
Follow all client company's safety policies.
Execution of activities as assigned.
Responsibilities involving food safety, when required.
Qualifications:
Basic Math, writing and reading skills needed
Pass forklift and respirator classes
Must have at least 2 years of forklift experience
Minimally lift 40-50 lbs. during shift
