Logistics Manager – Exempt

Location: Cheshire, CT

Reports to: Director of Supply Chain

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Oversee day-to-day operations of shipping & receiving departments for Cheshire, Newington, and Glastonbury facilities

Receive inbound shipments & fulfill outbound shipments

Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements

Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols

Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system

Maintain physical condition of warehouse by adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacements

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Manage Logistics / Supply Chain

Schedule and fulfill all inbound & outbound shipments of finished product

Coordinate ingredient ordering for production batches, optimizing for shipping and storage

Work with keg and packaging supplier to ensure continuous supply of kegs and packaging materials

Use inventory software to track ingredients, packaging, and finished product

Find areas to improve margins through better cost efficiencies in the supply chain

Resolve and communicate order issues efficiently and thoroughly

Prepare monthly depletion reports and various state sales reports

Distributor Orders and Shipping

Work with sales to confirm monthly orders with distributors, and schedule and optimize shipments with our freight carriers

Create sales and inventory reports after shipments

Long Term Projects and Potential Responsibilities

Continue to work on bringing costs down across the supply chain

Help Production Team forecast new flavor COGS

Work with the finance team on monthly inventory and COGS reconciliation

Find areas to maximize shipping by sourcing the best trucking companies, establishing standards for shipments, and working with sales to open new territories

Review ingredient supply chain and ensure we are sourcing high quality ingredients at the lowest cost

Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.

10-20% Domestic Travel required

Requirements:

Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field

In lieu of Bachelors degree, a combination of years experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

5+ years of warehouse management experience required

5+ years of supervisory experience required

Experience providing forklift certification training preferred

Experience with enterprise software preferred
