Isostatic Powder Processing Engineer

Amaero Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and creative early-career engineer to help lead its rapidly growing Isostatic Powder Processing (IPP) business for the defense, nuclear and aerospace markets. This person will report to the Vice President of Manufacturing and support the IPP Production Engineer in developing and deploying advanced manufacturing techniques (i.e. additive manufacturing, casting, welding and hot isostatic pressing (HIP)) to produce geometrically complex components for our commercial and government clients. The ideal candidate will be a high-integrity self-starter with entrepreneurial ambitions who wants to build their manufacturing portfolio and deliver state-of-the-art solutions to our demanding customers.

The IPP Engineer will be located at our newly constructed 100,000sq ft. McDonald, TN location near Chattanooga. This region is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States and offers a lot of nature, art and cultural activities. Nestled between the Tennessee River and the Appalachian Mountains there is easy access to entertainment in Nashville (2 hour drive), historical Rocket City Huntsville, AL (2 hour drive), Atlanta, GA (2 hour drive) and Knoxville, TN (1 hour).

Key responsibilities include:

Interpret, modify, and test Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) models for manufacturability using IPP

Design IPP HIP canisters based on CAD and CAE models as well as input from IPP Production Engineer

Develop supplier interface documents such as statement or scope of work (SOW), request for quotation (RFQ), requirements documents, etc.

Support development of the qualified supplier network for IPP

Perform internal research and development (IR&D) under guidance of IPP Production Engineer to advance IPP process

Develop, test and revise internal procedures for IPP

Perform quality assurance and quality control procedures and functions with support and oversight from the Quality Manager

Execute project plans to deliver customer orders on-time and on-budget

Interface with quality group to ensure customer requirements are met on projects

Maintain a safe and secure work environment

Qualifications/Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, technology, or additive preferred) or Material Science/Engineering

Experience with CAD tools

1+ years of work experience in manufacturing or engineering role

Skills:

Sound scientific, laboratory and technical knowledge.

Analytical skills including statistical analysis and design of experiments.

Effective organizational skills.

Communication and interpersonal skills.

A broad understanding of materials and their capabilities.

A broad understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.

Ability to work with Microsoft ®Office computer programs (spreadsheets, production planning software, word processing, etc).
