Sayres is currently seeking an experienced Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer with an active SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

As a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in providing engineering and technical support for a wide range of shipbuilding activities. Your expertise in mechanical engineering will be crucial in supporting concept studies, feasibility studies, preliminary design, contract design, detail design, construction activities, independent design reviews, and shipboard installation support. Additionally, you will contribute to special studies related to ships, boats, craft, ship systems, and shipboard equipment.

Offer comprehensive engineering and technical support throughout the shipbuilding process, ensuring the successful execution of concept studies, feasibility studies, and preliminary design activities with a focus on mechanical systems and equipment.

Collaborate on contract design activities and detail design and construction activities, leveraging your mechanical engineering expertise to optimize ship systems' performance and functionality.

Conduct independent design reviews, meticulously assessing mechanical components and systems to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Provide technical expertise for in-service ship design and engineering activities, contributing to the continuous improvement and efficiency of mechanical systems.

Offer essential support during shipboard installation, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of mechanical components and equipment.

Participate in special studies, conducting thorough analyses and providing valuable insights to enhance shipbuilding processes and mechanical designs.

Additional Duties:

Utilize your knowledge of DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process) to ensure compliance with regulations and streamline project execution.

Support projects involving Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Military Sealift Command procedures and processes, fostering international collaboration and expanding market opportunities.

Conduct advanced mechanical analysis and simulations to optimize the design and performance of ship systems and equipment.

Perform mechanical tests and evaluations to validate the reliability and functionality of mechanical components.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements:

Minimum Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

3+ years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.

Active Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS/JPAS.

Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates:

Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

Possession of a Professional Engineer License, showcasing your commitment to excellence in mechanical engineering.

5+ years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
