ServiceMaster CDR is seeking a full-time Fire Technician (Demolition & Cleaning) to join our energetic and dynamic team. This position is a pivotal role and works on a team removing damaged property from homes or businesses and providing services to restore the property to its pre-loss condition.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond and offer assistance and support to community members in need after a fire or other disaster-related emergency
Remove debris, trash, removal of drywall, cabinetry, and flooring and hazardous materials from assigned site and prepare it for renovation
Assure the safety of the surrounding before demolition
Load and unload building materials, machinery, and tools
Work with basic construction types and materials
Utilize phone applications to take pictures and document work
Operate manual and power tools
Set up and climb different types of ladders
Drive up to 100+ miles per day
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management as required by the needs of the business
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
No experience necessary. Training will be provided to qualified candidates
Excellent customer service skills
Basic knowledge and experience with hand tools
Good with technology. Ability to use smart phone and tablet
1 year of restoration industry experience (restoration) is preferred, but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to work overtime, on-call rotation, including some weekends
Must be able to pass a FIT Test, respiratory physical and wear a respirator as needed on job sites
Hepatitis B Vaccinations will be required
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Physical job that requires working indoors, outdoors, and in varying temperatures depending on the current weather conditions
Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights and in tight spaces (crawls spaces, attics, etc.)
Pushing, pulling, & lifting of tarps and other materials up to 50 lbs.
Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
Operate a company vehicle 100+ miles per day
Being able & willing to work as part of a team, but also as a self-motivated individual
Ability to follow direction, yet take initiative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with technology (mobile devices, computers, etc.)
Strong sense of urgency
Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation
Must pass background check
