Aerotek has an immediate internal opportunity for an ONSITE Backgrounds Legal / Compliance Assistant at the corporate location in Hanover, MD. (Seeking criminal justice / criminology majors!)

Compensation: $21.63/hr (annualized at $45,000) + quarterly bonuses

Job Summary:

The Background Compliance Analyst is based in the Corporate Operational Services Department. The Background department consists of three unique disciplines; Adjudication, Customer Service, and Contracts. While in this position you will learn company policy, internal practices and procedures, and apply what you learn on a day-to-day basis within your discipline.

Essential Functions:

Adjudication:

Comply with company policy, practice, and the law at all times

Apply company policy and practice to determine the eligibility of candidates based on client criteria using the company’s third-party background check vendor

Maintain a spreadsheet that tracks the status of certain results to ensure adherence to company process

Correspond with field office personnel via email to request information necessary to adjudicate background check result

Customer Service:

All Essential Functions of Adjudication and;

Educate and reinforce the company’s background investigation policies and procedures to field office and corporate personnel

Educate field office personnel on how to order and retrieve results on the background check website

Educate and promote the capability of the background screening provider’s system functionality and how field offices can use this functionality to assist them in developing and managing their own office background check program

Work directly with field offices and/or corporate personnel, as necessary, to document custom client background check requirements or instructions

Act as a liaison between our field offices and corporate personnel and background screening provider

Manage relationships with client required background vendors

Create compliant background check packages/services with vendor(s)

Investigate customer, vendor and overall service issues

Document essential information in company’s internal systems

Contracts Specialist:

Review background check requirements presented by clients in service agreements

Translate written background check requirements into background check services for the purpose of creating a custom and compliant screening package

Document background check requirements into internal systems

When necessary, work with client’s background check provider to setup account for internal personnel

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience in a professional setting required

Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to make decisions based on facts and follow instructions

Must have excellent communication skills

Must be able to analyze and diagnose complex problems

Must be able to operate, at all times, in accordance with company policy and practice

Must be comfortable working with high-volumes and deadlines

Must be able to work both as an individual and with a team

Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word and Excel
