Job Overview:

The Income Tax Manager position is focused on corporate income tax compliance, assistance with the annual income tax provision, tax planning, and transaction analysis for a North American specialty engineering and construction business. As a key member of our Tax Department, the Income Tax Manager will manage out-sourced income tax compliance for our domestic and international returns. This position will leverage technology resources to assist with streamline processes and developing synergies between the provision and compliance processes. This position reports to the Director of Tax Reporting.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with the annual income tax provision.

Research, develop, and implement innovative tax planning strategies aimed at identifying and mitigating tax risks and reducing income tax expense.

Assist with tax technology initiatives and department process improvements.

Coordinate with third party preparers to complete the federal, state & local, and foreign income tax compliance.

Review federal, state & local, and foreign tax returns, estimates, and extensions.

Maintain tax filing calendar and track filing obligations to completion.

Assist with federal, state & local, and foreign income tax audits.

Support the Director of Tax Reporting with special projects throughout the year.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university.

At least four years of public accounting experience in corporate income tax compliance, or five to seven years in an industry corporate tax compliance role.

Recent experience with federal and state tax planning initiatives.

Effective communication, leadership, organization, and research skills.

Preference given to candidates with previous experience working with any of the following software: OneSource Tax Provision, Alteryx, Sage Fixed Assets, Microsoft Power Query, PowerBI, Viewpoint, and/or Prophix.
