Description:
Our client, a rapidly growing local DME organization, is looking for a skilled Medical Biller to join their team in Malden. The ideal applicant will have 2+ years of Medical Billing experience, with experience submitting timely and accurate claims and collections.
Position Overview:
Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Responsibilities:
Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems
Ensure accurate and complete documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, identifying and resolving any billing discrepancies
Maintain patient billing records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues or disputes
Stay updated on industry changes in medical coding, billing regulations/policies, and compliance requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing/Coding is preferred
2+ years as a Billing Specialist or similar role in a medical office setting
Proficient in using medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9)
Familiarity with medical billing software/systems
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
Strong analytical skills to review medical records for coding accuracy
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Effective communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
Additional Details:
This is a contract-to-hire position with comprehensive training
DME experience is preferred, but not required.
