Robert Half is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Generalist on behalf of our esteemed client in the construction industry, based in Arlington Heights. This pivotal onsite role demands a proactive individual who is skilled at balancing a wide spectrum of HR functions with a specific focus on payroll and benefits administration, recruiting, and employee relations. Key Responsibilities:

Payroll and Benefits Administration: Manage payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payment to all employees. Administer employee benefits, including health, retirement plans, and leave policies. Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.

Recruiting: Lead the recruitment process from job posting to new hire orientation. This includes drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and facilitating hiring discussions with managers.

Employee Relations: Serve as a link between management and employees by addressing queries, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping to resolve work-related problems.

Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and workshops that address specific needs, to enhance the effectiveness of the employee and organizational performance.

Compliance and Policy Management: Ensure that HR policies are in compliance with state and federal regulations. Update policies as needed and educate staff on changes.

Performance Management: Assist in the development and implementation of performance review processes. Provide support to supervisors in managing employee performance issues.

HR Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation.

Requirements Of the Position

Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources.

Understanding of state and federal employment laws and other government compliance regulations.

Experience with payroll systems and benefits administration.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
