Job Description

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks an experienced Payroll Accountant to be primarily responsible for managing the payroll function of the organization and also general accounting tasks including general ledger recording, analysis, budget and financial reporting.

The Payroll Accountant will prepare and process bi-weekly payroll, review payroll data and ADP reports, prepare payroll related reports, funding and payment requests to ensure timely and accurate funding, maintain and reconcile payroll & benefit accounts, prepare payroll and benefit expense journal entries for month-end and year-end closings; provide payroll reports and reconciliation schedules for annual audits and prepare payroll and benefit budget for annual budget process.

The Payroll Accountant will also handle Actors Fund Home general accounting tasks, including preparing month-end and year end closing journal entries, reviewing, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing compliance reports and monthly financial reports, analyzing general ledger variances, providing any special reports for programs and management and supporting annual budget and audit process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

ADP Payroll experience & knowledge of compensation and benefits preferred

Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 5 or more years of experience required

Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end payroll processing

Comprehensive understanding of general accounting

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to communicate with all internal and external stakeholders

Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational and administrative skills

This is a full-time salaried position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s National Headquarters Office in Times Square, New York City.
