As the IT Governance Lead, you will be Accountable for leading the development, implementation, and communication of Supply Ontario’s IT governance framework to ensure that it is well-defined, compliant, and effective in managing risks while supporting the strategic goals of Supply Ontario.

In this exciting new role, you will be developing, implementing, and maintaining IT governance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and organizational objectives.

Other key responsibilities include:

Leading the development and implementation of Supply Ontario’s (SO) IT governance strategy and framework, including clearly defining roles and responsibilities, and the development of IT governance policies and guidelines to support analytics capabilities, operational requirements, and overall business objectives. Collaborates with SO’s leadership to shape and prioritize governance mandates and responsibilities.

Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and organizational objectives.

Lead cross-functional teams to assess, plan, and execute IT governance initiatives, risk management, and compliance activities.

Monitor and report on IT compliance, risk management, and security practices, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.

Create and maintain documentation related to IT governance processes, ensuring they are up to date and align with industry standards and regulations.

Conduct regular audits and assessments of IT policies and procedures, identifying areas of non-compliance and initiating corrective actions.

Manage relationships with vendors providing IT governance tools and services, ensuring their effectiveness in maintaining compliance.

Stay updated on evolving IT governance best practices, industry regulations, and emerging technologies.

Educate and train IT teams and other stakeholders on IT governance requirements and best practices.

Customize and apply established IT governance frameworks, such as ITIL, COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST, to support operational excellence and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Ensure that IT governance policies and practices align with and meet regulatory requirements specific to the organization's industry, location, and business operations.

Champion a culture of continuous improvement, driving efficiency and effectiveness in IT governance.

Acts as SO’s IT governance subject matter expert and provides advice and guidance across SO on all matters relating to IT governance.

Designs and tracks data related metrics and establishes Key Performance Indicators to monitor progress of IT governance impact on business and analytics activities. Works with business areas to identify data quality metrics and initiates data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality.

Partners with various technology teams for the resolution of issues and to collaborate on deliverables.

Supports Supply Ontario’s customer service standards, enabling client success and business improvement/continuous improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

6 – 8 years of experience in analytics and IT management or an IT related role developing and implementing IT governance standards.

Knowledge and Skills

The ability to develop, implement, and maintain IT governance policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams and drive IT governance initiatives, fostering collaboration and consensus among stakeholders.

In-depth understanding of established IT governance frameworks, such as ITIL, COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST, and other relevant standards. Knowledge of how to apply and customize these frameworks to align with organizational needs.

Familiarity with industry-specific and regional regulations, compliance requirements, and data protection laws.

Knowledge of IT security principles, practices, and standards to ensure that IT governance policies align with security requirements and best practices.

Proficiency in risk assessment and management, including the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate IT-related risks effectively.

Skills to educate and train IT teams, stakeholders, and employees on IT governance requirements and best practices, raising awareness and building a culture of compliance.

Knowledge and understanding of policy development processes (e.g., research, consultation, etc.)

Familiar with Agile Methodologies, ideally having worked in an Agile team setting.

Project management skills and attention to detail.

Leadership skills.

Ability to analyze complex issues and apply problem-solving skills to identify options or courses of action to address these issues.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities.

Ability to engage, consult, and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across IT and business functions.

Ability to influence others to align on IT governance solutions.

Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor communication approach for different audiences.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and other internal applications, as required.
