Job Description

Job Summary:

This Houston based internship will be actively involved in supporting Supply Chain activities. May participate in monitoring the movement of materials through the production cycle and be involved in the process of purchasing materials and the maintenance of inventory at planned levels.

Detailed Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist in the set up and maintenance of vendors in applicable systems.

May coordinate shipment dates and quantities with vendors for orders. Coordinate applicable method of shipment.

Assist in reviewing of schedules to ensure materials, equipment, components, supplies, and services are purchased and received in accordance with requirements/needs.

Involved in providing suppliers with relevant information in order to request quotation and delivery schedules.

Performs all other duties requested, directed, or assigned.

Education and/or Experience

In pursuit of a bachelor’s degree related to Supply Chain; Minimum of 2 years of related coursework, with a GPA of 2.8 or higher.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Should be able to figure percentages and proportions.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge computer software including basic use of spreadsheet (MS Excel), word (MS Word), and email (MS Outlook) software.

Other Skills and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Regularly required to sit, stand, or be mobile throughout the facility.

Ability to research, comprehend and retain job related information and instructions.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet requirements.

Ability to occasionally move about to access file cabinets and office equipment.

Ability to occasionally life and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to convert units of measurement.

Frequently uses computer and operates office equipment (phone, printers, copier etc.)

Ability to read and accurately interpret information – including technical details.

Must be able to organize work area.

U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
