Extrusion Technician (3rd shift)

Job Description

The Extrusion Technician efficiently sets up and starts extrusion lines and secondary processing equipment, ensuring seamless communication with quality staff to address production line issues. They play a key role in training new personnel on equipment and processes and are responsible for maintaining equipment cleanliness and optimal functionality for production needs. The technician performs various duties as required to meet business needs. This role is on the 3rd shift. 11pm to 7 am.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the set-up and start-up of extrusion lines for production orders per applicable work instructions and procedures.

Set-up and start-up of secondary processing equipment per applicable work instructions and procedures.

Provides process support to production operators and secondary support associates.

Participates as a team member or champion of improvement projects

Communicates and works directly with quality staff to identify, address, and resolve issues on the production line.

Trains and assists in the training of new employees, operators and leads on extrusion equipment and processes.

Responsible for ensuring that all equipment and tooling is clean and maintained for production use.

Perform other duties as required due to business needs.

QUALIFICAITONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience desired

Six months of extrusion experience or transferrable technical work experience/education.

The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one
