Wallace Montgomery is currently hiring for a full-time Environmental Compliance Manager to inspect our projects for compliance with state and federal environmental regulations in the Hunt Valley, MD area. This engineering position earns a competitive wage of $36 to $38 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Bachelor's degree in engineering, natural resources, environmental studies, or a related field

2+ years of relevant experience

Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions

Knowledge and practical experience with the following are preferred, but not required:

Project team coordination

Construction methods and practices

Experience conducting plan reviews and reading construction specifications

Hazardous Materials

Highway Safety

Field experience in assessing natural resources

Field experience on construction projects

Environmental regulations, permitting, and agencies' roles

C-107 Construction Runoff Control Inspection Form (C-107)

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Erosion & Sediment Control Contractors Certification (ESCCC) in addition to other VDOT-specific certifications would be a plus. If you meet the qualifications above, we'd love to work with you. Keep reading to find out more about the job!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE MANAGER

This full-time engineering position typically works Monday through Friday.

As our Environmental Compliance Manager, you're entrusted with the crucial responsibility of ensuring that all our work complies with relevant environmental regulations. Your role extends beyond protecting our company, as you also help to ensure that our infrastructure projects are safe and sustainable for the benefit of the public over the long term. Your comprehensive knowledge of state and federal permits enables you to conduct inspections of erosion and sediment control devices, verify limits of disturbance, and work closely with client environmental management personnel.

Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are instrumental in preparing daily reports to keep our project teams informed of all compliance considerations. Additionally, you're responsible for preparing environmental permit applications, which include field delineation, impact assessment, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
