Job Description

As an integral position of a high-capacity team, the Purchasing Coordinator will directly support the Paragon Group Pre-Construction & Production team throughout the lifecycle of projects. This multi-faceted position is suited for a highly driven, self-motivated, very organized individual with a desire to work as part of a project team from start to finish. Aspects of this position include assembly of project budgets for team approval, coordination and buyout of material/labor resources required for project execution, deployment of comprehensive project purchasing packages, and vital coordination efforts alongside field team to ensure accuracy and timeliness in purchasing, delivery of product, and completion of project as a whole.

Specific Responsibilities

· Coordinate all material estimating, budgeting, and purchasing operations of Paragon Group projects. This includes outsourced and/or internal processes. Communicate directly with subcontractors and vendors to gather accurate and comprehensive bids for project components ensuring properly specified material and qualified contractors are chosen for project execution. Using established checklists, evaluate bids ensuring fully captured scope of work and use of required and/or requested materials.

· Collaborates alongside Director of Production and Pre-Construction Team throughout the bidding and buyout process on changes in scope, questions, or requests for information regarding the project components. Gather and dispense appropriate information to subcontractors and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. Provide Paragon Group Production Team with proper necessary documentation to execute each project.

· Create and manage purchase orders in Builder Trend, reflecting accepted bids and successful buyout of project.

· Manage entire change order process & notice of delay process of a project including subcontractor/vendor quotations, communications with production staff, and necessary supporting documentation to fully execute change orders.

· Assist Director of Production in identifying and qualifying new subcontractors; assist with price negotiations; develop and foster lasting high-quality trade partnerships.

· Assists Production Team in review of trade quotations during build cycle to assure that fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.

· Identify areas for active improvement and help development creative sustainable solutions to improve efficiency and processes.

Skills & Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years working in construction industry or related field

· Minimum 2 years purchasing, estimating, or accounting experience preferred

· Estimating software / technology experience preferred

· Strong understanding of residential and civil construction practices and processes.

· Ability to analyze, understand, and follow residential and civil construction plans.

· High-capacity, high-performing individual with strong multi-tasking capabilities.

· Goal-oriented team player with excellent critical thinking skills.

· Must demonstrate high level or professionalism, focus on excellence, positive attitude, and constant pursuit of improvement.

· Mac Proficient, with emphasis in Google Suite and Microsoft Office SuiteCompany Description
