The permanent PC Technician will work in the West Columbia, South Carolina, area.
What you get to do every day
- Arrange repairs with the suitable vendors
- Retain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and solutions or installations
- Handle take down, packaging, transportation and setup/installation on site
- Keep track of equipment and collaborate on possible purchases
- Communicate with ticket submitters effectively and on a regular basis
- Provide support for functionality testing and end users
- Comply with company quality standards to ensure sound electronic data records
- Own and complete technology implementation projects
- Diagnose, restore, rebuild, and refurbish computer hardware, such as PCs, laptops, monitors, servers, and additional IT equipment
- Take down, box and ship equipment that is outdated
- Own imaging and preparation of new computers
- Install and repair printers, troubleshooting problems as needed
- Complete transferal of data from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware as well as break/fix
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
- Basic Network Troubleshooting experience
- Command of Windows OS
- An understanding of networking such as switching and routing is desired
- 1 year of experience with PC and Mac hardware and software, and an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
- CompTIA A+ certification required
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skill
