Located in the Miami, Florida area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Those with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets are preferred. Bilingual English and Portuguese is required.

Major responsibilities

- Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

- Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

- Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

- Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

- Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

- Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

- Partake in various department-wide initiatives

- Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

- Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

- Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

- Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- BA in Accounting is required. CPA preferred.
