Reports To: Student Intern Supervisor

Employee Type: Full Time/Part Time – Interns must receive college credits for their participation in the Internship program.

Join us at Prevention Links, where we're offering student internship positions that provide hands-on experience in various aspects of public health. As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with one of our dedicated teams across five Family Success Centers, Recovery Centers, and with our Administration team. This internship offers a unique chance to contribute to meaningful projects, gain valuable skills, and make a positive impact on public health initiatives. We are seeking a motivated and passionate student who are Public Health or Social Work majors.

Position Responsibilities:

Community Outreach: Assist in organizing and implementing community health events, workshops, and outreach activities.

Program Support: Provide support to ongoing public health programs and initiatives, including data collection, program evaluation, and participant engagement.

Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling, filing, record-keeping, and communication with stakeholders.

Research and Analysis: Contribute to research projects, literature reviews, data analysis, and report writing under the guidance of experienced staff.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with staff members across different departments to support organizational goals and objectives.

REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to perform work responsibilities in various locations.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be sensitive, flexible and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, sexual orientation or any other special needs as reflected in the ability to communicate with staff and/or clients.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and possess basic computer skills.

Must be available to attend weekend and evening meetings and events as required.

Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Must possess the time management skills necessary to organize and manage multiple priorities and tasks.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S and New Jersey.

Must possess the ability to serve as a representative of Prevention Links, upholding agency’s expectation of excellence and collaboration.

Must maintain an understanding of all programs, grants, and projects offered by Prevention Links.

Must adhere to Prevention Links administrative, reporting and recordkeeping guidelines to support accurate documentation of activities.

Must participate in all agency required training.

Must be able to speak and write English.

Must be able to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License and an independent mode of transportation.

Must complete all other duties and tasks as requested by the CEO or Deputy Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in public health, social work, psychology, or related field. Passion for public health and a commitment to serving underserved communities. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience or coursework in public health, community outreach, or nonprofit organizations is preferred but not required.

TRAVEL: Domestic travel may be required for this full-time position. Local, independent travel is required.

EVENING AND WEEKEND AVAILABILITY: Must be available evenings and weekends
