JOB SUMMARY

The Data Analyst role provides support for data and portfolio management across all business units. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining the data warehouse, demonstrating a technical background. Proficiency in creating and managing queries, as well as generating insightful analytical reports. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with senior management and business units to understand information needs, translating them into specific data capture requirements. This multifaceted role requires a proactive approach to managing deadlines, identifying process improvement opportunities, and aiding in data-related projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Play a key role in developing, implementing, ensuring quality, and maintaining the data warehouse.

Collaborate with senior management and business units to understand information needs and translate them into specific data capture requirements.

Create and maintain customized reports using SQL or SAS.

Analyze financial statements and consumer credit reports.

Monitor existing loans for quality and performance.

Manage daily, weekly, and monthly automated reporting and data warehouse processes.

Independently review accounts for data integrity and consult with management on procedural changes.

Assist in audits and state reporting requirements for Compliance.

Manage tight deadlines and identify process improvement opportunities.

Contribute to loan portfolio management and analysis.

Conduct detailed analytical investigations into operational projects.

Compile data for ad hoc requests.

Oversee report building, analysis, and management, preparing summaries and opinions for leadership.

Perform any other tasks and duties assigned to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related or comparable field, or two to four years related experience in relational databases, data warehouse, and data analytics.

1-2 years of experience in Business or Quality Assurance Analysis or equivalent related work experience.

1-2 years of experience working in the financial/banking industry, knowledge of the financial service industry.

Experience developing and delivering successful data management solutions which include relational databases, ETL tools, reporting analytics and data mining.

Experience in querying tools such as SQL or SAS.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Ability to build collaborative relationships and problem-solving skills across organizational levels and with third-party vendors, including experience interacting with senior management.

Knowledge of data analysis principles, practices, and procedures, enabling interpretation, analysis, and documentation of complex concepts for application.

Understanding of business processes in Finance, CRM, Risk Management, and Corporate Performance Measurement.

Problem-solving skills for analyzing information and formulating effective responses and recommendations.

Proficient in self-planning, scheduling, and organizing multiple activities with flexibility in adjusting priorities according to changing needs and time constraints.

Experience coordinating with SMEs to define use cases, create vision and scope documents, and develop business process models.

Skills in writing SQL or SAS scripts for report development and general data analysis.

Analytical skills with attention to detail, along with excellent interpersonal skills.

Decision-making ability.

Knowledge of web-based computer systems.

Familiarity with Microsoft PowerBI is a plus.

Familiarity with Python is a plus.
