Overview of Role:

We are currently looking for a Senior SCADA/Load Management System Analyst who will be responsible for providing senior-level system administration and technical support for the SCADA and Load Management systems. This position will monitor, maintain and improve system performance to ensure ease of use and that they are operating efficiently. This position will also analyze load profiles and historical data to recommend load control strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer, maintain, and program Unix Operating System Servers using shell and Advanced Control Systems proprietary programming languages and Prism SCADA servers to facilitate corporate monitoring and control of all connected substations.

Develop new and modify existing substation database and drawings.

Administer, maintain, and program Oracle Database using self-developed Utility Data Model to pull and archive historical data from PRISM system and using SQL to generate reports from data.

Administer, maintain, and program Windows workstations including updating software and securing stations and network.

Collect and analyze weather and load data and recommend load control strategies.

Monitor system performance and faults to assist in troubleshooting and restoration. Develop reports to analyze system performance.

Research and recommend new technologies and implementation strategies.

Administer, maintain and program data historians, such as AVEVA eDNA.

Extensively use various communication protocols, including DNP, ICCP and Modbus.

Troubleshoot and repair any network failures on SCADA networks consisting of switches, routers, modems, telecommunications lease circuits, fiber, and Ethernet.

Apply demonstrated senior-level technical expertise and leadership within division to produce positive results through planning, communication, and administration of policies and programs.

Work continually towards self-development to stay current on SCADA, load management, and computer and system operations procedures and practices.

Education and or Experience:

Associate's Degree in Computer Technology or related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems is desired.

Three to five years of related experience and/or training is required.

Experience with Linux, UNIX and Windows Operating Systems and their server and client-side software solutions preferred.

Previous experience with SCADA and Load Management systems and computer programming methodologies is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and mathematical skills.

Demonstrated proficiency with general computer operation and Microsoft Office applications.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels within the organization.

Demonstrated ability to anticipate and meet rapidly changing customer and business needs by quickly refocusing and realigning strategic and operational direction.

Demonstrated knowledge of database programming and ability to read substation schematics.

Demonstrated knowledge and desire for high tech solutions. Demonstrated knowledge of normal system operation.

Demonstrated ability to relate and communicate theoretical and/or technical information to provide understanding of concepts to laypersons.

Demonstrated knowledge of Linux or UNIX, advanced programming techniques, and security strategies; knowledge of Windows and windows networking infrastructure and security; SCADA & database programming; database and Structured Query Language (SQL).

Demonstrated ability to compile, organize, analyze, and recognize load trends, recommending proper load management strategies.

Demonstrated knowledge of proper operating parameters within NOVEC SCADA system; knowledge of system control and safety; knowledge of network connectivity and interaction of devices on a WAN/LAN environment. Knowledge of NOVEC Electrical Systems, Substations, and Telecommunication Systems, and other Computer Systems.
