Job Description

The Registered Ultrasound Technologist for our client will apply medical ultrasound to patients based on doctor's orders, working within the scope of practice defined by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. This role involves handling the movement, setup, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment, ensuring patient care aligns with individual needs. Reporting to the Radiology Medical Director, the technologist follows patient assessment and treatment procedures as outlined by policy and provides relevant information to the Radiologist. Trained in Basic Life Support, the technologist offers support when required and appropriately documents procedural information in the patient's medical record, including PACS. Behavior and communication skills must align with our client's mission, values, and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meet expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures using diagnostic imaging equipment with minimal supervision.

Document calibration procedures for individual imaging equipment.

Coordinate, organize, and make quick decisions on emergent cases, ensuring efficiency and productivity.

Assist the Radiologist in performing invasive biopsy procedures using the Ultrasound system.

Ensure accurate charging for all procedures and submit charges for correct billing.

Maintain the Ultrasound room, checking equipment and computer status for readiness, and report any issues affecting workflow.

Perform all tasks as deemed necessary or recommended by the immediate supervisor or manager on duty.

Demonstrate competence in patient care, considering population-specific and developmental needs.

Adapt patient assessments to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs.

Adhere to the CORE values of our client.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must Have’s:

Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent

Minimum 1-year scanning experience in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound

ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen required within one year.

LRST/ARRT Radiologic Technology License

Certification in OB/GYN or Breast Ultrasound

Current BLS (American Heart Association)

Salary: BASED ON EXPERIENCE $28-$47.40
