Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, develop, integrate, and debug production tools and product testing equipment.

Develop and implement production processes for new products.

Create standards, routers, and visual instruction sheets (VISs) to ensure part assembly meets product requirements.

Provide discrepant material disposition, assist in root cause analysis, and develop and follow up on corrective action plans.

Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Engineering teams to develop production processes and related documentation.

Conduct training sessions for shop operators and supervisors on new or revised products and processes.

Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to achieve maximum performance in line with company goals of cost reduction and on-time deliveries.

Develop Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) for process risk analysis and implement required actions.

Evaluate current and potential suppliers’ capabilities to provide parts to specification.

Education and Experience:

Required:

BSME Degree

Experience in a production assembly environment.

Experience with rotational molding plastics.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.

Preferred:

Experience with filament winding pressure vessels.

Automotive manufacturing experience with a basic understanding of QS9000 / TS16949.

Proficiency in Unigraphics, LabView, JD Edwards, and Microsoft VISIO.
