Store Manager

Position Reports to: Senior Managers + Director of Retail

Job Description

The Store Manager will advance the Pacers Running mission, vision and strategies in our retail stores and provide day-to-day operational oversight excellence. The Store Manager will seek to enhance the customer experience and serve location customers through the highest level of service. This position performs all the duties of someone on the sales floor but with added management responsibilities.

The Manager must be customer-service oriented, have excellent communication skills, and ability to manage both the back and front of house, as well as the ability to manage a staff. This position is responsible for the highest standards in front of house management including cleanliness, customer service, scheduled appointments, merchandising, special orders, and staff engagement.

The Store Manager is also responsible for back of house management including inventory and scheduling of location employees.

The Manger is trusted to make customer service decision that align with Pacers values.

Qualifications

Experience

Must have 1+ years experience in a retail environment, preferably at Pacers Running.

Must have experience in customer service, inventory management, and staff management.

Skills

Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Must be able to work effectively as a team.

Must be proficient in Shopify and Stocky.

Must be comfortable in fast-paced environment.

Must be available on weekends, holidays, and blackout dates.

Must have flexibility in schedule.

Customer Engagement

Celebrate the accomplishment of all fitness enthusiasts.

Set the tone for the highest level of service on the floor.

Take scheduled appointments when necessary.

Manage and work the sales floor. 30 hours on the sales floor, 10 hours back office.

Help the Director of Retail identify areas of improvement in store location.

Lead location staff by delivering best in class customer service.

Monitor daily customer and staff experience; promptly address customer feedback.

Be an ambassador to the sport of running and to Pacers Running.

Location Staff Management +Coaching

Proactively work with the Director of People + Culture to attract and retain top talent to support sales and growth of the location and company.

Help foster staff development and moral supporting best in class customer service.

Help in new employee training by continuing education on the sales floor after orientation.

Maintain the highest standards in CCI goals (as defined by the Director of Retail).

Bring staff concerns to the attention of the Senior Manager in a prompt and timely manner.

Back of House Management

Maintain an orderly and clean back of house including stock rooms, offices, and restrooms.

Help maintain an accurate inventory and adhere to inventory scan schedules, and sending weekly variance to the Director of Retail.

Manage defects, RAs, stock transfers and inventory receiving.

Oversee daily deposits.

Recognize the need for store and office supplies (pens, register tape, bags, bathroom product,

cleaning supplies, cups), and order on a monthly basis, adhering to the budget.

Manage special orders for location.

Front of House Management

See to execution of store merchandising plans as created by merchandising team.

Execute vendor and brand promotions in locations.

Maintain a clean, organized, and easily navigated floor and any publicly facing space with product properly rotated, priced and stocked as well as clean counters and merchandising elements such as mannequins, window displays, sales and promotion signage.

Participate in company meetings and vendor presentations pertaining to the store location.

Identify areas of professional growth and communicate such with management.

People Management + Coaching

Ensure all store processes, procedures are being followed.

Act as mentor for new hires and assist in store shadowing shifts.

Foster staff development and morale that supports delivering best in class customer service and a happy and healthy workplace.

Review CCI’s with Senior Manager to assist in efficiencies and reaching sales goals. Coach and mentor staff on a weekly basis surrounding CCI goals.

Seek and maintain high-functioning professional relationships with peers.

Lead resolution of staff concerns and seek support from Senior Manager when necessary.

Provide ongoing feedback and conduct formal annual reviews for location staff, as required by the Director of Retail.

Conduct 90 Day reviews with all new employees.

Support the Director of Retail in; Execute SPIFF programs in accordance with marketing and purchasing teams.

Lead in store execution of consistent brand message to customers; coaching of floor staff to uplift brand in customer and community interactions.

Be able to give feedback and coach staff on the sales floor while observing the Fit Process to be able to uphold the best in customer service.

Manage the store schedule and have it ready to publish each Wednesday.

Work with employees to schedule them consistently.

Ensure that you floor is covered at all times and provide emergency coverage during shift call-outs.

Salary and Benefits

This is an exempt, full-time position. Salary starts at $50K.

Workplace + Schedule

Director of Retail will assign primary work locations. The store manager is expected to work 40 hours aweek based on management duties and retail requirements. Actual hours may fluctuate based on need, staff schedules, vacation schedules, training, and travel. Working weekends, holidays, and evenings is expected including any blackout dates as detailed by the senior management.

In addition, travel to and attendance at vendor meetings, working at expositions off site, attendance at education workshops and management meetings, and participation in other evening and weekend activity is expected.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
