ABOUT US

The Inova Ambulatory Surgery Centers are full service ambulatory outpatient facilities. With 5 centers throughout Northern Virginia, and 6th to be launched in mid-2024, our locations are proud to serve the communities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun Counties. Our Surgery Centers provide cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring environment by highly-skilled, compassionate staff. We are a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, we are licensed, Medicare certified and AAAHC accredited.

We are seeking a Director of Materials Management to provide direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for Materials Management. This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring departmental goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Provides strategic direction for materials functions in the areas of inventory management, purchasing, contracting, quality assurance, and value improvement. Plans, coordinates, and administers the operational, financial, administrative, and technical aspects of materials manaement. Develops and manages operational initiatives with measureable outcomes.

Engages staff and other stakeholders in continious improvement of materials systems and processes; manages resources for staff participation in improvement initiatives. Seeks opportunities to promote the vision and values of the organization.

Serves as an operational and technical resource to materials management in the communication and resolution of related issues; negotiates successful resolutions and provides education about materials management

Develops and implements systems to assure optimum inventory levels and on-time deliveries to meet center requirements, while minimizing carrying costs and transportation charges.

Performs root-cause analysis and implement viable, permanent solutions to materials related issues. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages. Works to develop solutions which meet organizational needs and objectives.

Actively seeks opportunities to improve financial outcomes, engaging staff in the process. Continuously investigates new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery at or below budget.

Prepares and delivers reports to operational leadership outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives, to include performance related to finance, clinical activity, quality, safety, marketing, and human resources

QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED:

BS, MBA preferred

10+ years’ experience in healthcare materials management, preferably in an Ambulatory Surgery Center or Hospital System setting

Progressive procurement experience with a track record of exceeding goals

Experience in total logistics systems management

Effective leadership capabilities

Strong interpersonal skills including teamwork

Strong negotiating skills with knowledge of tactical and strategic purchasing

Excellent communication skills

Ability to travel to visit our Surgery Center locations
